Position Summary 

Keyfactor provides products and solutions tailored to address the distinct challenges organizations face with certificate lifecycle management. As the Director of Cloud Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in steering the strategic conception and implementation of the technical roadmap. Your leadership will guide a team of Cloud Engineers in enhancing the operational efficiency of Keyfactor solutions hosted in the cloud.

Putting Customers at the Core drives all actions within this role, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience. Ensuring platform and product availability to meet contract Service Level Agreements (SLAs), optimizing hosted platform performance, and upholding security compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, etc.) all fall under your leadership.

Location Preference: Cleveland, Ohio or Atlanta, Georgia, or remotely from within the United States. US Citizenship is required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute the comprehensive cloud design as laid out by Keyfactor Cloud Architecture. This involves ensuring resilient, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Spearhead platform engineering initiatives to create scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure platforms supporting Keyfactor’s operational and strategic objectives.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration among operational teams, customer success units, and product/engineering teams to deliver projects aligned with strategic goals.
  • Supervise the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources, focusing on performance, cost management, and security.
  • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms for cloud health, performance, and costs, providing recommendations for enhancements to executive leadership.
  • Recruit and nurture a diverse, skilled, and unified engineering team.
  • Cultivate an environment of constant improvement, staying abreast of industry trends and evolving customer needs to suggest and implement changes in cloud technologies.
  • Participate in customer-facing discussions on technology and design to support new business opportunities and address existing customer inquiries to incorporate feedback into strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Keyfactor Compliance Team to offer technical support for a variety of compliance controls, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171.`
  • Offer technical guidance to an on-call team providing 24/7 support for critical infrastructure.

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, particularly in developing skills and capabilities in cloud technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic leadership and forward-thinking in cloud computing.
  • Proficiency in cloud architecture, configuration, and deployment methods within the Microsoft Azure platform (10+ years).
  • Proven track record of implementing cloud strategies with hands-on experience in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate cloud infrastructure.
  • Ability to utilize data to make informed decisions, manage complex projects, and lead teams under tight timelines.
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts, network protocols, and firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and security requirements related to SOC, ISO-27001, PCI, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171.
  • Experience in using DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and others to enhance the agility of cloud infrastructure.
