What You Will Manage:

As a Director of Data Engineering at Circle, you will collaborate with Engineers to develop and operationalize data-driven solutions and scalable data pipelines, supporting internal data consumption and decision-making processes. Working alongside a team with a penchant for analysis, your role will be instrumental in driving towards our objective of becoming a distinguished data-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead data engineering initiatives, facilitating cross-functional communication as a subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to establish platforms and datasets, creating strategies and prioritizing data engineering tasks.
• Support team members' professional growth to enhance retention rates and productivity.
• Develop expertise in data sources and ETL flows within Circle.
• Implement, manage, and optimize data warehouse and associated tools.
• Supervise a team of data engineers, overseeing managers and individual contributors.

Key Qualifications:

• Over 10 years of industry experience working with vast datasets and modern data tools.
• More than 5 years of leadership experience in a technical capacity.
• Proficiency in a scientific computing language (Python) and expert in SQL.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in database/data warehouse design.
• Extensive hands-on experience with software development tools and workflows (Linux, git, AWS).
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex modeling solutions from conception to production at scale.
• Ability to elucidate intricate business problems and devise structured approaches for analytics projects.
• Demonstrated success in developing, managing, and retaining data engineers.
• Experience in managing remote teams.

Additional Details:

• This position provides day-one PERM sponsorship for eligible candidates.

• Compensation is based on factors like experience, skills, qualifications, and organizational requirements.

  • Base Pay Range: $227,500 - $292,500
  • Annual Bonus Target: 20%
