Director of Supply Chain & Procurement
Job Overview
As a key member of CleanSpark (Nasdaq: CLSK), you will assume the role of Director, Supply Chain & Procurement, guiding and executing CleanSpark’s enterprise procurement and supply chain operations. This role will act as a shared service, bolstering the company’s diverse teams across mining, AI data centers, energy, technology, and corporate functions by ensuring consistent, efficient, and secure sourcing practices, supplier management, and procurement controls. Your strategic contributions will entail driving cost-effectiveness, quality enhancement, timely procurement management, and resilient business operations through adept planning and supplier engagement.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and implement holistic procurement, supply chain, and category strategies in alignment with the company’s operational objectives, growth plans, and risk strategies.
- Lead the strategic sourcing lifecycle encompassing market analysis, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and contract finalization, in coordination with Legal, to ensure optimal supplier selection.
- Collaborate with business units to identify requirements, streamline demand, assess total cost of ownership, and devise sourcing tactics that meet technical, operational, financial, and schedule targets.
- Design an enterprise-wide approach for critical equipment sourcing, encompassing demand forecasting, strategic supplier partnerships, framework agreements, and contingencies for seamless delivery assurance.
- Institute supplier performance metrics and risk-mitigation protocols, addressing facets like quality, timeliness, cost efficiency, responsiveness, financial viability, and market dynamics.
- Establish and uphold procurement policies, authority protocols, competitive-bidding standards, vendor onboarding procedures, purchase-order guidelines, and conflict-of-interest policies to ensure process adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable, and Technology to optimize procure-to-pay workflows, contract oversight, supplier data management, invoice handling, and expenditure monitoring across integrated systems.
- Oversee supply chain operations for assigned categories, supervising expedited shipping, inventory strategies, site deliveries, and resolving issues as needed.
- Develop procurement performance indicators such as cost savings, sourcing cycle efficiency, contract coverage, supplier performance scores, on-time delivery rates, supply risk assessment, and procurement compliance levels.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage procurement and supply chain professionals, defining roles, establishing service benchmarks, fostering team dynamics, and reinforcing accountability throughout the team.
This role necessitates professionalism, integrity, critical thinking, effective communication, keen attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate adeptly within a cohesive, inclusive, and team-centric work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, business, finance, engineering, or construction, or equivalent work experience.
- Over a decade of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, managing complex capital purchasing and enterprise expenditures.
- Demonstrated expertise in either setting up or enhancing procurement functions catering to various business units or operational sectors.
- Strong negotiation skills handling advanced commercial agreements, pricing structures, and supplier management frameworks.
- Experience in devising procurement policies, sourcing standards, supplier governance norms, and internal controls supported by robust information systems.
- Demonstrated leadership prowess in engaging team members, driving performance, and upholding accountability standards.
- Well-honed analytical, financial acumen, negotiation, communication abilities, and stakeholder collaboration skills, leveraging data insights for decision-making.
- Willingness to travel to different business locations, project sites, and supplier facilities as necessitated.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within data centers, energy sectors, or technology hardware industries, especially with high-value equipment.
- Exposure to global supplier networks, logistics management, customs compliance, and quality assurance mechanisms.
- Possession of industry certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or similar accreditations related to procurement or supply chain disciplines.
Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000 annually
