Director, Partnerships - CoinDesk Media & Events (US-Central/West Coast & LATAM)

The Opportunity
CoinDesk is in search of a results-driven business development and sales professional to grow our Media & Events businesses in US-Central/West Coast and Latin American (LATAM) regions. This role involves overseeing areas such as Austin, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Mexico City, San Francisco, Sao Paolo, and Seattle, given the borderless nature of digital assets and decentralized protocols. As a pivotal part of our global Partnerships team, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the existing client base, establishing new relationships, and becoming a key figure in the crypto communities of the region. The ideal candidate for this role is highly self-motivated and disciplined with a history of generating opportunities and earning client trust.
The position reports to the Managing Director of the Partnerships team based in New York.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute strategies for business development aimed at advancing CoinDesk’s presence and dominance in the US-Central/Western & LATAM regions within the global crypto space for media and events.
- Enhance and enlarge a predefined client list by offering exceptional customer service and solutions.
- Proactively identify and create new revenue streams and business opportunities by cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.
- Serve as a reputable advocate for all CoinDesk products, spanning live events, digital media, video, podcasts, newsletters, thought leadership, and webinars.
- Develop a strong network and reputation to effectively position the CoinDesk brand for enduring partnerships with both new and existing clients by acting as a trusted advisor capable of maximizing client return on investment.
- Set and surpass revenue targets with a focus on tangible results.
- Collaborate with the Global Partnerships team and other business units at CoinDesk to achieve shared successes as a cohesive team.
- Ensure data accuracy in Salesforce and other relevant systems to track all sales activities and pipeline metrics.
- Stay updated on market trends and suggest new products or enhancements to drive revenue growth.
- Travel as required for client meetings and relevant industry events.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in media and/or events within the crypto, global finance, and/or tech sectors.
- Profound understanding and enthusiasm for the cryptocurrency and blockchain landscape.
- Demonstrated record of accomplishment in driving brand and business objectives while managing client relationships.
- Established industry relationships across US-Central/West Coast & LATAM regions.
- Exceptional skills in client relationship management and the ability to plan, document, and oversee activities with minimal supervision.
- Self-accountability, effective communication, and the ability to take ownership of your role.
- Capable of collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and fields of expertise.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including extended trips occasionally.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, G Suite, and DocuSign.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
