Engineering Manager - Crypto Web Experiences

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Growth division. This role involves constructing resilient services and overseeing critical projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of skilled engineers while fostering a culture of open communication, technical expertise, and practical leadership.
• Cultivate the team and contribute to shaping a work environment characterized by transparency, quality craftsmanship, and a sense of ownership.
• Ensure the quality and delivery of the team's work.
• Supervise all technology and services supporting BitGo's Web experiences, such as onboarding, authentication, and product workflows for different customer segments.
• Act as an effective liaison between engineering teams and other stakeholders like product operations, support, compliance, and business.
• Take charge of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, customer experience, and service uptime.
• Promote thorough documentation and encourage knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with management and product teams to strategize, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
• Align the team's efforts with broader company goals and client expectations.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

• Previous managerial experience in an engineering department or similar senior role.
• Over 8 years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity supervising engineers.
• Proficiency in and keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Strong inclination towards automation and streamlined workflow tool development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to understand intricate system interconnections.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting top engineering talent.
• Experience collaborating across teams and functions to achieve shared departmental objectives.
• Ability to adapt flexibly, make swift decisions, and initiate actions independently.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed application systems.
• Background in and understanding of the financial industry.
• Proficiency in Git/GitHub, code review tools, branching methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your role level and location, the typical compensation for this position ranges from $180,000 to $240,000 USD base salary. This package also includes equity, an annual performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits.
