Engineering Manager - Crypto Web Experiences

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Growth team, contributing to the development of resilient services and overseeing critical projects independently or collaboratively.

Please note that this role requires full-time presence at our Palo Alto office to support team collaboration and innovative problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of open communication, technical expertise, and hands-on leadership.
• Grow and shape the team while promoting values of communication, craftsmanship, and accountability.
• Assume responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of the team's work.
• Manage the technology and services underpinning BitGo's web experiences for both retail and institutional customers, encompassing onboarding, authentication, and product workflows.
• Act as a vital liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders from product operations, support, compliance, and business departments.
• Be accountable for key performance indicators related to internal operations efficiency, client service quality, and service uptime.
• Prioritize thorough documentation and knowledge sharing practices.
• Collaborate with management and product teams to define, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
• Ensure alignment of the team's efforts with overarching company goals and client expectations.

Required:

• Previous managerial or senior engineering leadership experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Proven ability to automate processes, develop tools for workflow optimization, and adept at debugging intricate system interconnections.
• Demonstrated track record in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team environments, collaborating to achieve departmental objectives.
• Strategic, decisive decision-maker with adaptability and self-starting capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
• Experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with the financial industry and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

Pay Transparency Notice: Expected compensation for this role ranges between $180,000 - $240,000 USD base salary, depending on experience and location. In addition to base salary, equity, an annual performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits package are included.
