ByteGuard is seeking a proactive Engineering Manager to integrate into our Go Network unit, assisting in the development of resilient and robust services while overseeing critical projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, orchestrate, and nurture a team of skilled and high-impact engineers, delivering cultural, technical, and hands-on guidance.
  • Expand the team and actively contribute to cultivating an open communication, craftsmanship, and ownership-oriented culture.
  • Assume direct accountability for the quality and timely delivery of the team’s outputs.
  • Supervise all technology and services supporting ByteGuard Prime, encompassing trading, lending, settlement, and other functions.
  • Serve as a positive liaison between engineering teams, product operations, support, compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Spearhead, steer, and take responsibility for key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding internal operations efficiency, client experience aspects, and service uptime.
  • Promote extensive documentation and knowledge sharing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with management and product teams to strategize, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
  • Align the team with broader corporate strategies and client expectations.

Required

  • Previous experience as a tech lead, manager, or equivalent senior-level role within an engineering department.
  • 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, featuring 2-4 years in a managerial capacity overseeing engineers.
  • Strong inclination towards automation and tooling development to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Proficient in debugging with a capacity to comprehend the interconnectedness of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated track record in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent.
  • Background in operating within a cross-team environment by collaborating with diverse functions to drive overarching departmental objectives.
  • Self-motivated with adaptability, decisiveness, and quick learning abilities.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Understanding and keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with NodeJS, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
  • Experience in working with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Previous involvement with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
  • Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge and experience in the financial industry.
  • Acquaintance with digital wallets, clearing and settlement systems, lending platforms, trading systems, and accounting systems.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your level and location, the salary for this position typically ranges between $240,000 - $280,000 CAD as the base salary, inclusive of equity and an annual performance bonus.
