Engineering Manager - Prime

Operating globally with multiple Trust companies, BitGo serves numerous institutions, exchanges, platforms, and retail investors.
The company is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Prime organization to contribute to the development of resilient, robust services that involve critical projects. This role requires full-time onsite presence at the Toronto office.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading and nurturing a team of skilled engineers, providing leadership in both cultural and technical aspects.
- Cultivating a culture of open communication, craftsmanship, and taking ownership within the team.
- Ensuring quality and timely delivery of the team's projects.
- Overseeing all technology and services related to BitGo Prime, such as trading, lending, and settlement.
- Acting as a liaison between engineering teams, product operations, support, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Establishing and meeting key performance indicators related to internal operations, client experience, and service uptime.
- Encouraging documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborating with management and product teams to plan, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
- Aligning team objectives with company goals and customer expectations.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Previous experience in a managerial or senior engineering role.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a managerial capacity.
- Proficiency in automation, building workflow tools, and strong debugging skills in complex systems.
- Track record in hiring engineering talent and collaborating in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to adapt quickly, make decisive decisions, and possess effective communication skills.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent.
- Interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
Preferred:
- Experience with technologies like NodeJS, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with microservices, service-oriented architectures, Containers, and Kubernetes.
- Background in large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
- Knowledge or experience in the financial industry and associated systems like digital wallets, clearing, settlement, lending, trading, and accounting.

The compensation for this role typically ranges between $240,000 - $280,000 CAD base salary, along with equity, an annual performance bonus, and additional benefits.
