Description

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for various ventures projects. These projects are closely aligned with our core businesses and are rapidly initiated with a streamlined team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing different components for scalable applications, covering both frontend UI and backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and nurture a cross-functional engineering team to create a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Technical Strategy and Execution: Collaborate with Product Managers to define product roadmaps and technical strategies. Oversee the end-to-end development process, driving new features and products from concept to deployment and maintenance.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the primary engineering interface, working closely with product, design, and other teams to ensure project alignment and successful execution.

  • Addressing Gaps: Proactively identify and resolve any technical, process, or resource deficiencies within the engineering team to facilitate smooth and efficient development cycles.

  • Architectural Oversight: Guide the team in making well-informed architectural decisions for scalable, secure, and reliable systems supporting our global retail trading platform.

  • Operational Excellence: Advocate for best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD, to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate project status, risks, and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Innovation and Growth: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, empowering them to explore new technologies and approaches to solve complex challenges.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of managing and mentoring software engineering teams, preferably in a multifaceted environment comprising mobile (iOS/Android) and backend engineers.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in software development with the ability to contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions. Familiarity with technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka is advantageous.

  • Mobile Development: Experience in native mobile development (iOS, Android) and/or cross-platform frameworks like React Native is a plus.

  • Product Development Collaboration: Previous experience partnering with product managers to build successful products.

  • Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of the retail trading, fintech, or financial services sectors, with blockchain technology knowledge being beneficial.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive approach to addressing challenges with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity and bring projects to fruition.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, enabling efficient handling of multiple tasks and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English, with proficiency in Mandarin being an added advantage.

  • Scalability and Performance: Experience in designing and constructing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems for large-scale applications.
