Engineering Manager, Simulation - Enterprise Insights
At Improbable, we are dedicated to helping businesses navigate the increasingly complex and interconnected world. Our Enterprise Insights unit, consisting of over 30 professionals, focuses on solving intriguing engineering challenges. We are currently looking for an experienced Simulation Engineering Manager to lead our talented modelling team.
In this position, you will oversee a diverse team of scientists, modellers, and engineers who develop models and simulation platforms central to our digital twins. Your responsibilities will include driving team members' professional growth, ensuring timely project deliveries, and elevating the quality of our modelling efforts. Collaborating closely with other engineering teams, as well as product and business development departments, will be essential to align the team with organizational goals. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to engage with external stakeholders like customers, partners, and academic institutions to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Your Opportunity:
- Lead a team of engineers by actively supporting their career development, providing coaching, and empowering individuals
- Comprehend business and product objectives, architectural requirements, and modelling approaches that influence the team's work
- Plan, monitor progress, and report on work to ensure effective project delivery aligning with business objectives
- Leverage your experience in modelling, simulation, and software engineering to assist the team in solving complex problems
- Establish and enhance modelling, engineering, and Agile practices within your team
- Develop and maintain partnerships with academic institutions to drive knowledge transfer and keep abreast of advances in modelling and simulation
Why You're Suited for This Role:
- Demonstrated commercial experience, preferably in a startup environment
- Hands-on experience in modelling, simulation, digital twin technology, or AI/ML
- Proven ability to lead a customer-centric technical team and consistently deliver solutions that meet users' expectations
- Capacity to effectively balance delivery and quality based on project needs
- Strong communication skills for interacting with technical team members and stakeholders
- Skilled people manager dedicated to fostering team development and growth
- Sound understanding of engineering best practices, including Agile methodologies
