German & French Localisation Manager (Contractor)

We are seeking a Localization Manager proficient in both German and French to assist in managing multilingual content operations across various platforms including web, app, and marketing channels. As part of a dynamic editorial and growth team, you will utilize our internal AI model to create initial transcreations, and then refine, edit, publish, and ensure that all content aligns with our brand and compliance standards. This role encompasses AI-assisted localization, transcreation, editorial subediting, CMS publishing, and project management, making it ideal for individuals who can seamlessly navigate between language accuracy, creative nuances, and operational efficiency.

Please note this is a contract position requiring 2-3 days per week commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

Transcreation & Localization:

• Adapt English marketing and product copy into natural-sounding German and French, maintaining cultural authenticity.
• Review, refine, and quality check translations generated by internal AI systems or external linguists for accuracy and consistency.
• Transcreate content into other languages for internal review.
• Ensure that all localized materials in German and French adhere to brand tone, terminology, and style guides.
• Publish localized content using a CMS and oversee localization workflows from start to finish.

Cultural & Market Relevance:

• Customize creative concepts to suit local cultural nuances and consumer expectations.
• Provide insights and guidance to global teams on market-specific preferences and sensitivities.
• Serve as a language and cultural consultant for the DACH and French markets.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure content complies with local regulations and disclaimers are appropriately adapted.
• Stay updated on regional compliance requirements.
• Review all marketing materials, campaigns, and customer communications for accuracy, tone, and compliance.

Project Management:

• Manage localization timelines and deliverables for various content streams.
• Coordinate with editors, designers, and marketing leads for efficient publishing workflows.
• Monitor localization metrics and suggest enhancements to processes or AI models.

Requirements:

• Fluent (native-level) in German and French; proficient in English.
• Demonstrated experience in localization, transcreation, or editorial roles, preferably in finance or regulated industries.
• Strong editorial skills with a blend of precision and creative flair.
• Familiarity with CMS tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted translation tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and communication skills.
