About the Opportunity
The Compliance team at our organization plays a key role in fostering a culture of compliance throughout the company. We are a team of proactive thinkers dedicated to advising the business on regulatory obligations and risks.
Key Responsibilities
As the Governance Lead, you will oversee a growing team responsible for enhancing crucial aspects of our compliance program while staying informed about global developments. Leadership capabilities and strong technical expertise are required to handle complex issues and collaborate with colleagues at all organizational levels. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading strategic governance support for core Compliance functions such as AML/CFT, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements.
- Developing and updating comprehensive compliance policies, standards, procedures, and guidance.
- Collaborating across different functions to implement an effective compliance management program following global standards and industry best practices.
- Establishing a dynamic dashboard for monitoring compliance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Generating timely compliance reports for management and the Board, and other pertinent stakeholders.
- Providing leadership and guidance to a team of Compliance Analysts with the potential for team expansion.
- Defining strategies for enhancing the Governance team and implementing these changes successfully.
- Creating a Global Compliance reporting structure to ensure transparency across Regional Compliance functions.
- Taking on special projects as needed within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of compliance experience in financial services, FinTech, or cryptocurrency industries.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role leading a team.
- Proficiency in relevant laws and requirements including AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, and privacy regulations.
- Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
- Self-motivated, critical thinker, and adept at working independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Demonstrated ethical conduct, willingness to question, and ability to challenge effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis and deriving actionable insights for decision-making.

- Demonstrated success in leading transformational change initiatives in large organizations, particularly in the financial services sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in global environments, FinTech, or crypto exchanges.
- Additional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent.
