What you'll be responsible for:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Ethics to lead and oversee the implementation and operation of our ethics program. In collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, you will set and drive ethics and compliance goals, ensuring Circle's compliance with all relevant laws, rules, and regulations. Your role will involve promoting education and awareness of these programs, fostering a culture of ethics and compliance across Circle. You will also oversee the implementation and execution of controls to effectively manage risk.

What you'll work on:

  • Develop, manage, and lead a global ethics function, including policies and controls related to internal policies such as the Code of Conduct, Reporting of Concerns, Anti-Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, and Insider Trading.
  • Identify and mitigate ethics and compliance risks proactively.
  • Provide guidance and advice to employees, including senior management, on policy-related inquiries.
  • Drive program objectives, report key results and metrics, and strive to continuously enhance and scale the program.
  • Regularly assess policies, procedures, and controls for compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices in the industry.
  • Develop and implement company-wide training on ethics, providing targeted training and mentoring, and managing communications.
  • Provide support for internal investigations as required.

What you'll bring to Circle:

  • Over 15 years of experience in ethics, compliance, legal, risk management, or audit roles within a financial institution.
  • Experience in fostering a strong ethics culture in a rapidly growing business environment, preferably in technology or financial services.
  • Ability to build programs and strengthen second line of defense programs effectively.
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior-level leadership and board of directors.
  • Passion for financial technology and cryptocurrency/blockchain disruption, with a focus on teamwork and mentorship.
  • Comfortable in an evolving and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal guidance, as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.

Additional Information:

  • PERM sponsorship is available for qualified candidates starting from day one.
  • Compensation is determined based on various factors, including experience, qualifications, and organizational needs.
  • Compensation range: $187,500 - $240,000 (base pay). Annual bonus target: 20%.
  • Additional benefits include equity, medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Discretionary vacation policy, 10 days of paid sick leave per year, and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
