Head of Governance
The organization based in the Cayman Islands aims to nurture the Arbitrum ecosystem, including an Optimistic Rollup and AnyTrust technology for ultra-low-cost fees. As a key player in Ethereum scaling solutions, Arbitrum is deeply involved in managing the ArbitrumDAO, a prominent decentralized autonomous organization.
The role of the Governance Head involves strategizing the engagement between the Arbitrum Foundation and the ArbitrumDAO, facilitating the DAO's self-fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in decentralized governance, multi-stakeholder coordination, regulatory compliance, and DAO operation, working to strengthen the relationship between the Foundation and the DAO.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create a strategic governance plan aligning with the goals of both the Arbitrum Foundation and the unique mission of the DAO, with a focus on promoting DAO autonomy.
- Implement strategies to empower the DAO towards self-governance, assisting the community in managing their activities independently.
- Assist the DAO in establishing efficient governance processes and tools for streamlined operations and decision-making.
- Offer strategic counsel to the DAO on crucial matters such as resource management to support well-informed decision-making.
- Establish a network of expert advisors spanning various fields and connect the DAO with these resources to aid in the successful execution of initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for DAO participants, contributors, and service providers, bridging communication among various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with community teams to design effective onboarding processes that engage and retain DAO members in alignment with the missions of both the DAO and Foundation.
- Collaborate with education teams to provide resources and training that elevate the governance skills of DAO members.
- Maintain open feedback channels to ensure continual support and empowerment of DAO members for effective governance activities.
- Keep detailed governance documentation updated to align and inform DAO members and the community.
- Monitor DAO proposal cycles to guarantee compliance with governance protocols and assist the DAO in adhering to timelines and agreements.
- Mediate disputes and enforce agreements to preserve the integrity and trust of the DAO's governance framework.
- Lead efforts in attracting new community members, developers, and contributors to the DAO to foster a sustainable governance model.
- Coordinate with marketing and ecosystem growth teams to elevate DAO initiatives, enhancing visibility and impact.
- Collaborate with other DAO-governed organizations to promote industry-standard transparency, fostering accountability and trust.
- Provide regular updates to the Arbitrum Foundation on governance progress and DAO milestones for transparency and alignment.
Requirements:
- Experience in DAO governance, decentralized community management, or similar roles within blockchain or Web3 environments.
- Proficiency in project management and use of governance tools like Snapshot and Tally for supporting DAO functions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Bonus points for knowledge of Ethereum, Layer 2 scaling solutions, and DAO dynamics.
- Established leadership and network within the blockchain and Web3 communities.
