Head of Grants

The Arbitrum Foundation seeks a Head of Grants with exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail to oversee grant programs and investment efforts. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing the complete grants lifecycle, from solicitation and evaluation of grant proposals to monitoring outcomes, and will also lead the grants team. The ideal applicant will possess a robust background in grant management, exceptional communication abilities, and a dedicated interest in backing innovative projects within the blockchain and cryptocurrency realm.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Foundation's grant strategy to ensure it aligns with organizational objectives.
• Evaluate and appraise grant applications to confirm alignment with criteria and the Foundation's mission.
• Supervise the grants approval process in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Scrutinize grant proposals based on strategic fit, potential impact, and financial feasibility.
• Create and sustain a thorough evaluation framework to gauge the success and impact of funded initiatives.
• Identify and analyze strategic investment opportunities in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector.
• Establish investment strategies that uphold the Foundation's mission and long-term objectives.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the grants team to nurture a cooperative and high-performance environment.
• Oversee the day-to-day functions of the grants team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Desired Background

• Over 2 years' experience in investment analysis and portfolio management within crypto VCs in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector.
• Sound understanding of the blockchain ecosystem, including key participants, technological trends, and emerging prospects, with specific expertise in the Ethereum and Arbitrum Ecosystem being advantageous.
• Proficient in grant management best practices and adept at formulating and executing effective grant policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated track record in leading and guiding teams, focusing on promoting a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, adept at handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of articulating complex information clearly.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including grantees, board members, and external partners.
