As the Head of Internal Audit, your responsibilities at BitGo will entail leading and molding the internal audit function company-wide. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire audit process, shaping improvements to audit methodologies, and ensuring comprehensive risk management and compliance across all facets of the business. You will collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders to align audit strategies with organizational goals and regulatory standards, nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute the internal audit strategy to align with organizational aims and regulatory mandates, driving innovation and efficiency within the audit team.

  • Audit Management: Direct the entire audit cycle, encompassing scoping, planning, implementation, and reporting. Ensure robust testing of controls and detailed documentation to support audit conclusions and recommendations.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks in IT, finance, Trust, and legal domains. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies as outlined in the company's Audit plan.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships with executive management, governing bodies, and boards to define audit goals, scope, and outcomes. Present audit findings and solutions effectively to senior leadership.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on federal and state regulations impacting the industry and uphold the company's compliance with evolving laws and best practices through proactive strategies.

  • External Relations: Develop positive relationships with external auditors and regulatory entities, ensuring alignment of BitGo's internal audit practices with industry standards and external expectations.

  • Team Development: Construct and mentor a diligent internal audit team. Establish and maintain a rigorous ongoing testing program and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Extensive background in internal audit with demonstrated leadership and strategic oversight. Prior experience in digital assets or financial services is advantageous.

  • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications like CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or equivalent qualifications.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of auditing standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Proficient in IT, finance, Trust, and legal risk considerations.

  • Skills: Exceptional communication and leadership abilities. Proven competence in managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting. Strong analytical skills and strategic acumen.

  • Adaptability: Demonstrated capacity to excel in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry environment.
