Incident Commander
We are looking for a talented individual to join our team focused on designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for various venture projects adjacent to our core businesses. These projects are rapidly developed with a lean team. Your key responsibility will involve actively contributing to the design of different components for scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
The Role:
Join our operations team as an Incident Commander where you play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, resilience, and continuous availability of our trading and financial platforms. You will lead the management of high-severity incidents, conduct root cause analysis, enforce SLAs, and drive operational readiness through automation, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Collaborating closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee IT Incident & Problem Management, taking charge as Incident Commander during major outages to drive resolution and implement preventive actions.
- Manage SLAs and service reporting, including metrics on availability, downtime, risk, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accuracy of service governance by overseeing ITSM tools and CMDB data integrity.
- Drive secure deployments through participation in Change Advisory Board (CAB) sessions, post-release assessments, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support operational efficiency by implementing automation, monitoring, and alerting tools to reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
- Develop and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans across both IT and business units.
Qualifications:
- Possess 8+ years of experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and IT Operations within fintech, banking, or trading sectors.
- Proven track record as a Major Incident Manager/Incident Commander dealing with real-time high-severity incidents.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Configuration Management.
- Hands-on experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, JSM, HPSM, and CMDB.
- Proficient in reporting & analytics related to availability, SLA compliance, and root cause analysis trends.
- Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management abilities, and a knack for leading under pressure.
- Sound understanding of software architecture and infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with trading systems, order management platforms, or exchanges.
- Experience in running Splunk queries and basic troubleshooting skills.
- ITIL v3/v4 certification or equivalent certifications.
- Prior exposure to 24x7 financial services environments on a global scale.
- Comfortable with working night shifts.
