Duties

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and uphold accurate financial statements compliant with Japanese accounting standards and internal regulations.
  • Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile exchange accounts, bank accounts, crypto wallets, and general ledger for precise financial reporting.
  • Crypto Transactions and Accounting: Oversee cryptocurrency transaction accounting, ensuring obedience to regulatory guidelines for purchases, sales, trades, and wallets.
  • Internal Controls and Audit: Create and sustain internal controls for asset protection and financial records accuracy, supporting internal and external audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance, uncover cost-saving chances, and optimize revenue in exchange operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on global and local cryptocurrency regulations, particularly adhering to Japanese financial laws like those by the Financial Services Agency.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage all tax-related matters, including preparation and submission of tax returns as per Japanese tax regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the global finance team and other departments for smooth operations and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; preference for ACCA or CPA certification.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience, with Big Four audit exposure.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge in dynamic environments.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to excel in fast-changing settings with extreme attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
