At Anchorage Digital, we are seeking individuals to contribute to our mission of building the world's most advanced digital asset platform for institutional participation in crypto. Anchorage Digital is a prominent crypto platform facilitating digital asset engagement for institutions through a range of services including custody, staking, trading, governance, and settlement, all supported by leading security infrastructure. As the site of America's illustrious first federally chartered crypto bank, Anchorage Digital is backed by renowned institutions such as Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with a valued Series D valuation surpassing $3 billion. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, California, the company has expanded its presence to various locations including New York, New York; Porto, Portugal; Singapore, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Through a strategic approach, Anchorage Digital facilitates financial institutions in offering digital asset services to their clients, akin to a banking-as-a-service model uniquely tailored to the crypto landscape.
This role offers a unique opportunity to participate in the design and creation of a platform that will drive the future adoption of digital assets in institutional finance. Qualified candidates will engage with cutting-edge crypto technology and adhere to the stringent standards synonymous with regulated financial services. As part of this pioneering team, you will be instrumental in setting the technical trajectory of our infrastructure services platform, including the mentoring of fellow engineers and the influential shaping of the product roadmap while taking ownership of critical systems from inception to production.
We have delineated the ‘Factors of Growth & Impact’ to enhance the evaluation and communication of scaling impact, coaching, feedback, and the enriching learning that arises from engaging in and mastering capabilities within and beyond the role of the Infrastructure Services Member of Technical Staff. Key aspects include:
- Development of highly secure and scalable infrastructure to fuel digital asset custody, trading, staking, and settlement for enterprise financial institutions
- Design and implementation of virtual accounting layers, API integrations, and multi-tenant platform architectures
- Cultivation of technical excellence through mechanisms such as code reviews, design specifications, and extended mentorship across the engineering organization
- Promotion of an efficient testing culture emphasizing security, reliability, and minimizing technical debt in a regulated setting
Key qualifications include a robust background of over 8 years directing backend services and distributed systems, capacity in designing and delivering consumer-facing APIs and multi-tenant platform architectures, proficiency in cloud-native microservices (particularly with GCP), experience in constructing automated tests alongside features, and preserving production systems over time. Familiarity with C++, Go, or Rust, Kubernetes and container orchestration, ledger systems, virtual accounting layers, or custody infrastructure would be advantageous. A foundation in financial services or a background in the digital assets sector, coupled with insight on system security and accommodation of regulatory financial directives, would also be beneficial.
A collaborative disposition across product segments and with corporate clients is essential to discern and cater to their infrastructure requirements. Partnering with compliance, legal, and security departments ensures alignment with regulatory standards. Ciommunication skills are paramount for influencing structural decisions, product roadmaps, mentoring fellow engineers, and effectively engaging with external parties.
At Anchorage Digital, our team members, the Anchorage Village, are a mix of top minds in platform security, financial services, and distributed ledger technology, all culminating to provide the foundational elements necessitated for institutions to confidently engage with the evolving digital asset landscape.
