The Security Team's core mission is to cultivate a realm of trust, security, and resilience for our clients and regulators. The Security Team oversees key aspects including the management of production security infrastructure and automation, secure coding practices, monitoring, incident response, access control, continuous enhancement of control measures, SOC attestation, and managing relationships with third parties.

As a part of the team with a focus on monitoring, you will utilize diverse tools and methodologies to set a behavior baseline for our products and IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying and investigating any anomalies in accordance with that baseline.

You will play a pivotal role in the team, contributing to medium-to-large scale projects. Your proficiency in triaging and responding to various signals will be instrumental in prioritizing roadmap projects to accommodate the expanding scale of Anchorage Digital by understanding the "why" and the broader perspective.

Your role will involve cross-team collaboration to exert influence both internally and externally. Success in this position involves delivering meaningful work that fortifies the team's stability and resilience, embracing and enriching the Anchorage Digital culture, and placing utmost importance on the protection and security of Anchorage Digital and its clients.

Stay informed about emerging threat intelligence to ensure ready-to-implement, well-tested playbooks for swift response.

Technical Skills:

  • Recognize issues and advocate for best practices in our secure, resilient, and globally scalable infrastructure.
  • Conduct code assessments across the entire stack and support other engineering teams in addressing challenges with technical guidelines.
  • Advocate for an effective testing culture, minimizing technical liabilities and bureaucracy.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Enhance our Monitoring & Testing program by establishing baselines and investigating issues. Collaborate with engineering teams managing various services and products to ensure effective rectification.
  • Automate manual tasks into continual testing facilities to guarantee Anchorage Digital is prepared to scale securely.
  • Independently lead or significantly contribute to mid-to-large Security Team initiatives. These projects often involve multiple team members and may cross borders between engineering teams. Execute projects from inception to conclusion with minimal oversight, coordinating the activities of other team members.
  • Break down large projects into smaller tasks. Provide accurate estimates for the time and scope of these tasks. Clearly present the different dimensions considered, analyze trade-offs, and justify the recommended priorities.
  • Work is assessed upon completion and aligns with departmental goals. Could be held accountable for meeting tactical business objectives impacting their team.
  • Produce high-quality code and infrastructure, making substantial technical contributions to our platform. Identify and deal with technical liabilities while recognizing avenues for enhancement.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Comprehend the company's strategy to ensure its successful execution. Play a role in planning and outlining the Security Team's strategic objectives in harmony with Anchorage Digital's overarching goals.
  • Keep track of the development of company objectives and trends that may affect its success.
  • Carefully assess security across the entire product ecosystem and promote a company culture that gives precedence to it.
  • Strike a balance between swift progress (quick deployment) and precision (meticulous measurement).

Communication and Influence:

  • Ensure knowledge dissemination throughout the broader team and evade the positioning of individuals as single points of failure.
  • Guide and mentor multiple engineers within the Engineering team, helping them grasp how security impacts Anchorage Digital’s strategic aims, enabling them to develop new technologies and services securely with adequate oversight and assurance.
  • Collaborate across teams and services to resolve issues. Review specifications from other teams and partake in technical discussions. Clearly convey insights, recommendations, and ideas to enhance processes and address the technical backlog.
