Challenge
We seek a practical DevOps Engineer enthusiastic about optimizing and revamping outdated build pipelines, crafting them into orderly, scalable, automated setups.
This role transcends mere maintenance duties - you will spearhead the review of existing CI/CD workflows, pinpoint bottlenecks, and champion modernization initiatives that enhance developer efficiency, delivery speed, and system robustness.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess legacy CI/CD pipelines to identify inefficiencies, failure points, and manual tasks.
- Devise and implement contemporary CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security protocols, and streamlined deployments.
- Transition manual infrastructure and build configurations to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Establish standardized "golden paths" for build and deployment workflows spanning various environments.
- Enhance pipeline visibility through the integration of logging, monitoring, and alerting systems, ensuring prompt and actionable developer feedback.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to enhance build reliability and deployment assurance.
- Take charge of CI/CD enhancements from conceptualization to production deployment.
- Actively contribute innovative ideas to refine DevOps methodologies, tools, and overall engineering efficiency.
Mandatory Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in revitalizing or migrating legacy CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in working with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong background in containerization using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Skilled in scripting and automation, particularly with Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Thorough understanding of CI/CD principles, build optimization, and deployment strategies.
- Comfortable operating in environments housing legacy systems with custom scripts, XML configurations, and manual procedures.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to operate independently.
- Clear and effective English communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
Nice to Have:
- Background in incorporating security scanning and compliance validations into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with secrets management and state management in contemporary DevOps environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Previous experience in mission-critical or high-availability environments.
- Participation in defining DevOps standards or optimal platform practices.
Team & Environment:
- Engage with a distributed, multinational engineering team.
- Embrace an ownership-driven culture where engineers see projects through from start to finish.
- Focus on modernization, automation, and enhancing developer experience.
- Extensive freedom to propose and implement enhancements.
