Operational Risk / Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) Specialist
Job Summary:
Binance, a respected global blockchain ecosystem facilitating the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, is seeking a seasoned Operational Risk / ERMF Specialist. The primary focus of this role is to aid in creating and evolving the company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). Collaborating with various teams globally and locally, this position plays a crucial role in reinforcing risk governance, conducting risk evaluations, tracking Key Risk Indicators, and supporting operational risk projects across the firm. Ideal candidates should possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a comfort level in fast-paced financial services or digital asset environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) & Governance
- Assist in developing and refining enterprise risk management guidelines, protocols, and governance structures.
- Create and update risk-awareness materials and training resources to bolster a robust risk culture within the organization.
- Aid in upholding effective risk governance through the implementation and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Assist in the preparation of risk documentation and reports for senior management and Board Committees.
- Work closely with Risk Champions and Risk Owners in the First Line of Defense to offer guidance and consolidate risk reporting.
Country Risk Management (CRM)
- Gather operational risk incidents across regional units, analyzing trends, and conducting thematic assessments to identify emerging risks.
- Assist regional teams in formulating and maintaining KRIs in alignment with the firm's risk governance framework.
- Aid the central risk function in monitoring regional risk management operations effectively.
Product Risk Management (PRM)
- Collaborate with Product and Risk Owners to evaluate, identify, and mitigate operational risks linked to crypto and digital asset products.
- Validate the efficiency of controls noted during product risk assessments and monitor the timely execution of corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments for new service offerings, products, and business initiatives.
Functional Risk Management (FRM)
- Assist in creating and updating KRI matrices across global and regional risk departments.
- Support Risk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in establishing KRIs aligned with the enterprise risk framework.
- Aid the central risk team in maintaining continuous oversight across various risk functions and pillars.
Operational Risk Initiatives
- Collaborate on operational risk programs, covering areas like Third-Party Risk Management, Incident Management, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
- Compile risk dashboards, management reports, and risk-related analytics to aid in effective management decision-making.
- Engage in cross-functional projects and handle ad hoc tasks when necessary.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, or similar discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Audit, Advisory, Financial Services, or Product Risk Management.
- Preferably experienced in financial services, fintech, or digital assets/cryptocurrency sectors.
- Familiarity with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platforms and database management systems preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of excelling in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the implementation and governance of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
- Knowledge of operational risk methodologies such as Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), incident management, and risk reporting.
- Exposure to regulatory standards within financial institutions, fintech, or digital asset enterprises.
- Professional certifications like FRM, PRM, CRISC, CIA, or similar are advantageous.
