Key Responsibilities:
Circle is seeking a seasoned Principal specializing in Know Your Customer (KYC) to join our Compliance Operations team. In this role, you will lead intricate reviews and projects within the KYC domain. Conducting targeted diligence reviews for customer onboarding and continuing periodic assessments will be central to your responsibilities. Operating at the nexus of innovative products and customer interactions, you will contribute to maintaining the platform's safety through thorough customer investigations and ongoing monitoring of various risk factors inherent in the KYC landscape.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth reviews assessing the risk of money laundering, financial crimes, and terrorist financing for customers.
- Supervise customers under specialized diligence reviews, build relationships with counterparties, and evaluate controls.
- Oversee complex account relationships, conducting holistic assessments of customer relationships, transactions, and provided information.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and other functions to ensure continuous monitoring of client relationships in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Evaluate risk-based business actions for customer onboarding or ongoing monitoring.
- Produce detailed reports of findings with informative narratives and recommendations.
- Advise Business teams and address complex issues with innovative solutions.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the cryptocurrency industry.
- Act as an expert on existing and emerging technologies that influence the industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; additional qualifications in quantitative or technical fields are advantageous.
- Over 10 years of relevant expertise in AML and KYC reviews within the crypto or financial sectors.
- Enthusiasm for exploring the potential of digital currency and blockchain technologies.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving acumen, with adeptness in structuring ambiguous problems and synthesizing insights from data.
- Solution-oriented mindset with strategic thinking and proactive initiative.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and achieving results with a diverse range of stakeholders.
