Product Manager, Fiat & FCM
About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership position within the regulated trading business of a rapidly growing cryptocurrency organization. The Product Manager for Fiat & FCM will be responsible for developing and executing the fiat product strategy for the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and regulated US trading platform. This role involves overseeing the money movement infrastructure that enables clients to fund and withdraw from a CFTC/NFA-regulated trading environment efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
The focus of this role is on the FCM product line, but the scope extends beyond that to encompass the broader banking-rail strategy across different markets and currencies. Over time, this responsibility will expand to include other business lines within the organization. The Product Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing Total Funds Flow, acceptance rates, settlement speed, and cost per transaction across the platform.
The team operates globally across APAC, EU, and US time zones, requiring the candidate to work effectively across different time zones and communicate seamlessly with teams situated around the world.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the fiat funding and withdrawal experience for the FCM platform, managing customer fund segregation, margin funding flows, and the operational aspects of daily segregation computation and regulatory reporting.
- Select and integrate payment rails based on speed, reversibility, and cost, such as ACH, FedWire, FedNow/RTP in the US, SEPA, SEPA Instant, FPS, and other schemes for future market expansions.
- Lead evaluations, negotiate commercial agreements, and oversee technical integrations for establishing direct bank partnerships that support a regulated trading entity.
- Expand and optimize payment infrastructure across markets to enhance fiat accessibility, with a focus on extending the FCM funding model to new geographies.
- Implement payment rails based on transaction speed requirements to support instant trading activities and margin calls.
- Develop and oversee liquidity and settlement strategies through banking partnerships to maintain seamless liquidity for mass user pay-outs and high-frequency trading settlement.
- Improve pay-in acceptance rates by optimizing processor relationships, fraud rules, and compliance logic across card and bank transfer channels.
- Design and manage the logic for a dynamic routing engine that selects the most suitable payment rail in real time based on user segment, jurisdiction, currency, speed, and risk profile.
- Establish compliant and scalable fiat solutions for institutional trading clients, including segregated bank accounts, high-value wire processing, and bulk pay-out APIs.
Requirements
- Direct experience with a CFTC/NFA-regulated FCM, futures broker, or regulated trading platform, including expertise in customer fund segregation, margin funding, and regulatory fund handling.
- In-depth understanding of payment rails in multiple markets such as the US (ACH, FedWire, FedNow/RTP) and ideally EU (SEPA, SEPA Instant), including settlement timing and reversibility.
- Experience with direct bank integrations and commercial partnership negotiations, preferably with exposure to specialized banking charters.
- 7–10+ years of product leadership experience, with at least 7 years focused on payment infrastructure, core banking, or regulated trading/brokerage products.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling payment rails in high-volume, real-time environments.
- Proven track record of leading payment orchestration and dynamic routing logic for production systems.
- Proficiency in developing fiat solutions for institutional clients, involving knowledge of segregated accounts, wire processing, and bulk APIs.
- Strong technical aptitude in complex API products, data flows, and payment protocol integrations.
- Hands-on experience with core banking platforms and payment scheme integrations, such as ACH, FedWire, SEPA, SWIFT, and FPS.
- Ability to work effectively across APAC, EU, and US time zones and collaborate with globally distributed teams.
- Strong people management skills and the ability to set high standards for the team.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities across various functions including engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior leadership.
The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $220,000 per year.
