Senior Backend Engineer - Activate

They are currently seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join their dynamic Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing new features and applications for enterprise clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, construct, and maintain robust APIs, libraries, and services for BitGo's settlement product.
• Manage BitGo's technical architecture to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Take ownership of feature development and scalability from inception through deployment and integration with clients.
• Document and communicate functionalities to various stakeholders, including UI teams and third-party developers.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements and quality standards.
• Mentor other team members by providing code reviews and sharing best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Strong knowledge of server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS and experience with SQL databases.
• Expertise in RESTful API design, unit testing, and debugging.
• Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with version control, code review tools, CI/CD pipelines, and project management tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and participate in on-call support when needed.
• Strong communication skills in English and a relevant technical degree from a reputable institution.
• Willingness to collaborate with stakeholders across different global locations.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and TypeScript.
• Background in Financial Services or Financial Technology.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and functional programming paradigms.
• Experience with financial accounting systems and digital asset technologies.
• Proficiency in full-stack development and React.
• Exposure to large-scale distributed applications and real-time systems.
• Previous engagement with clients and business partners in a technical capacity.
• Interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
