Role Overview

Join us at Notabene as a Data Engineer to lead the transformation of global crypto transaction settlements. You will collaborate closely with various business stakeholders to translate their BI requirements into data-driven insights that leave an impact.

In this position, you will be responsible for constructing and managing data pipelines, enhancing our data warehouse structure for scalability, and ensuring that data insights are optimized and scalable throughout the organization.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a key driver in establishing a data-centric culture at Notabene. Your close collaboration with key internal teams will deliver insights that directly shape our strategic decisions as we expand. Additionally, you will drive the transformation of our data into a pivotal product offering for our customers and the wider industry.

Main Responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines employing dbt, Airbyte, Redshift, and Sigma.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business operations teams to align on data requirements, establish dashboards, and produce essential insights.
• Establish a data engineering function from the ground up, including leading a proficient data team as the company grows.
• Champion a data-driven culture at Notabene and drive data-driven decision-making across different departments.
• Ensure the implementation of data governance and security protocols, particularly for high-security PII (Personally Identifiable Information) data.
• Monitor, optimize, and resolve issues with data infrastructure and pipelines to maintain performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• Possess 8+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Demonstrate a strong track record in creating and managing ETL pipelines and data infrastructure (preference for Airbyte, Redshift, Sigma).
• Skilled in utilizing dbt core/cloud effectively.
• Show business acumen and adeptness in interacting with finance, revenue, and operations leaders to enhance business intelligence.
• Display proven leadership abilities with a successful history of establishing and overseeing data teams.
• Proficient in data governance, best practices, data security, particularly concerning PII.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on experience working in AWS.
• Strong problem-solving skills, diligence, and the capability to operate independently in a global, remote-first organization.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and departments.
