We are actively developing Block Tracer, BN's cutting-edge blockchain compliance analytics platform. As a Senior/Expert Algorithm Engineer, your role involves pioneering algorithms for transaction analysis, entity clustering, risk assessment, and pattern recognition, contributing significantly to fortifying the safety and compliance standards of the largest cryptocurrency exchange on a global scale.
Responsibilities
Entity Clustering Algorithm Development:
Formulate address clustering algorithms for UTXO chains like Bitcoin, Litecoin, BCH with nearly 100% accuracy
Create Common-Spend clustering, EVM clustering, and multi-layer blockchain unification algorithms
Establish cross-chain entity linking systems to monitor fund movements across different blockchains
Machine Learning Model Development:
Develop and refine risk scoring models to evaluate address and entity risk levels
Design address evidence quality models with comprehensive audit trails
Build behavioral attribution models for classifying unknown addresses
Implement change address prediction and anomaly detection algorithms
Behavioral Pattern Recognition:
Devise heuristic algorithms for recognizing legitimate services such as exchanges, wallets, DeFi platforms
Develop detection systems to identify illicit activities like mixers, scams, fraud contracts
Establish pattern recognition for hot/cold wallet differentiation and address rotation
Algorithm Quality Assurance:
Monitor algorithm performance and uphold a less than 1% false positive rate
Conduct root cause analyses and implement enhancements
Design A/B testing frameworks and define performance benchmarks
Ensure algorithm explainability and auditability
Technical Innovation & Research:
Adapt algorithms for new blockchains and protocol updates
Conduct research on graph neural networks for risk propagation
Publish technical papers and actively contribute to the blockchain analytics community
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines
- Over 5 years' experience in algorithm development, machine learning, or data science
- At least 3 years experience in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency analytics is preferred
- Proven track record of deploying algorithms in real-world environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex algorithms effectively
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated ability in team collaboration and mentoring
- Proficiency in English required
Preferred Qualifications
- Published research in blockchain analytics, graph algorithms, or machine learning
- Contributions to open-source blockchain analytics projects
- Experience with Graph Neural Networks (GNN) or deep learning on graphs
- Knowledge of financial crime patterns and AML/KYC compliance
- Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies
