What You'll Be Responsible For:

As the inaugural Data Science specialist focused on Machine Learning at Circle, you will primarily address two critical challenges: identifying potentially illicit transactions and actors, and optimizing reserves allocation to mitigate systemic risk. Your focus on creating tailored solutions using sophisticated methods and techniques aligns with our commitment to adherence and safety within the crypto landscape. Moreover, your role extends to exploring related areas and comprehending the intricacies of our business through thorough research and analysis.

What You'll Work On:

Take the lead in developing, enhancing, and managing solutions for the aforementioned challenges. Collaborate with product teams, treasury, fellow data scientists, and data engineers to create model inputs, develop models, deploy them effectively, and monitor their success.

Devote time to identifying and tackling additional machine learning problems that hold substantial value for Circle.

During non-machine learning tasks, persist in recognizing data requirements, defining metrics, and establishing data models in support of business needs and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional quality.

Conduct comprehensive analyses and construct models to gain insights into customer behavior, informing crucial product decisions.

Share business updates, experimental outcomes, and recommendations with a diverse audience and senior leadership to positively influence strategies.

Engage in data collection and analysis of blockchain activities to evaluate trading behaviors, incentives, and the role of USDC within the broader crypto ecosystem.

What You'll Bring to Circle:

Possess a minimum of 5 years in data analysis or data science, with at least 3 years concentrating on machine learning in relevant domains like KYC, anti-fraud detection, or blockchain data science.

Demonstrate proficiency in SQL and a programming language such as R or Python for effective data handling and analysis.

Show comprehensive knowledge of machine learning both theoretically and practically.

Proven track record in conceptualizing and implementing production-ready machine learning models.

Possess exceptional problem-solving abilities with sharp attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills to convey complex insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
