What You'll Be Responsible For:

As the initial hire for Data Science and Machine Learning at Circle, you will focus on key challenges including uncovering potentially illicit transactions and actors, as well as optimizing reserve allocation to mitigate systemic risks within the company. Your role involves developing advanced methods to address these critical issues and delving into additional exploratory research to understand and visualize the problems at hand. While the core focus is on machine learning applications, there will be opportunities to leverage data science for various problem-solving approaches beyond solely machine learning.

What You'll Work On:

You will take ownership of identifying illicit transactions and optimizing reserve balances, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective models and monitor their success in production. Additionally, you will tackle valuable machine learning problems, identify pertinent data, create meaningful metrics, and construct data pipelines and models for powerful insights. Analyzing customer behavior, deriving insights, and influencing product decisions are vital aspects of your role. Engaging in deep analyses, building models, and communicating insights to stakeholders will be integral to your responsibilities. Moreover, you will investigate blockchain activity, leading to a comprehensive understanding of trading behavior and the broader crypto landscape, particularly within the context of USDC.

What You'll Bring to Circle:

• Over 5 years of experience in data analysis and data science, with a notable focus on machine learning issues.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and a programming language like Python or R for effective data manipulation.
• Deep expertise in machine learning theory and applications.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing productionalized machine learning models.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.

Additional Information:

• Position offers day-one PERM sponsorship for suitable candidates.
• Compensation considers various factors like relevant experience and skills.
• Base Pay Range: $147,500 - $195,000, with an Annual Bonus Target of 12.5%.
