About the Role:
At Figment, we manage 70+ blockchains and seek to expand our operations further. This is a full-time remote position with team members based in North America and Europe.
We are currently in search of a Senior DevOps Engineer to assist in scaling our operations through planning and executing projects to manage blockchain server fleets. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to building tools in an industry with emerging technologies. You will be responsible for developing production systems capable of supporting new blockchain software, focusing on aspects like security, monitoring, maintainability, and stability.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Lead projects to deliver scalable, secure, and stable deployments across various use cases
- Identify and implement automation solutions to improve infrastructure management efficiency
- Evaluate and address areas of systemic risk
- Manage and monitor cloud and physical servers across global hosting services
- Automate blockchain software processes for build, installation, and management
- Perform Linux server administration and implement security measures
- Troubleshoot distributed blockchain systems
- Support the team in resolving stalled tasks
- Communicate technical initiatives to leadership and product teams
- Mentor other team members in technical domains
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Ansible in environments with over 500 servers
- Proficiency in supporting Linux servers in high-security, highly available environments
- Strong knowledge or experience in working with blockchain nodes
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex application flows across multiple systems
- Familiarity with optimizing system performance and scripting with Bash and Python
- Proficiency in creating modular, automated cloud provisioning with Terraform
- Deep understanding of networking and security best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation tool testing and module development
- Knowledge of Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanisms
- Experience in operating applications on Kubernetes
- Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines and using secure storage tools
