Senior FP&A Manager
Position Overview
A senior FP&A Manager with strong quantitative skills is sought to play a crucial role within the finance team at our diverse and remote Xapo Bank. You will utilize advanced quantitative abilities to elevate financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making processes. Developing complex financial models, conducting thorough data analysis, and providing valuable insights will be key tasks to support the company's financial objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in quantitative analysis, extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, and the capability to effectively communicate intricate financial information.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leveraging Enhanced Data Analysis and Financial Modeling:
- Apply advanced statistical and mathematical techniques to improve financial models, forecast accuracy, and gain a deeper understanding of financial performance trends and opportunities.
- Supporting Strategic Initiatives:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of unit economics using available data and financial insight to contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
- Enhancing Risk Management:
- Develop and implement innovative risk assessment models to identify and mitigate potential risks, safeguarding company assets and enhancing strategic decision-making.
- Streamlining Financial Processes:
- Utilize programming skills to automate financial procedures, reducing manual efforts and errors to enhance operational efficiency and enable focus on strategic tasks.
- Optimizing Investment Strategies:
- Support the assessment of capital allocation efficiency from a finance standpoint and provide valuable insights on investment strategies.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD) in a quantitative discipline preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a significant portion in a quantitative role in banking, financial services, or a VC-backed startup.
Proven expertise in developing and implementing advanced financial models and quantitative analysis techniques.
Skills:
- Programming proficiency in languages like Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with financial tools such as Excel, VBA, and SQL.
- Deep understanding of statistical methods, econometrics, and machine learning algorithms.
- Advanced competency in financial software and ERP systems like Anaplan, Oracle NetSuite.
- Superb communication skills to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
