Senior Software Engineer - Custody

This position requires full-time presence at the Toronto office to promote team collaboration and innovative problem-solving.

BitGo seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join their Custody team and contribute to the development of resilient and secure services that enable customers to store and access their cryptocurrency securely while meeting global compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable APIs, libraries, and services to enhance the API-first platform
• Take ownership of feature functionality and scalability from conception to deployment and integration
• Document and expose functionality to various stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new features
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
• Continuously explore and implement new technologies for better development efficiency
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to refine product specifications
• Mentor peers by providing code reviews and sharing best practices

Skills & Experience

Required

• Minimum 6 years of proven experience in backend and server-side development
• Proficiency in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful API design
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Familiarity with unit testing, functional testing, and debugging
• Proficiency in Git/GitHub, code review tools, and CI tools
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or related technical field
• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology

Preferred

• Experience in developing consumer-facing crypto products
• Demonstrated experience in building public-facing APIs in real-world environments
• Full-stack proficiency and familiarity with React
• Experience working with clients or business partners
• Familiarity with digital wallets and ledgering

Pay Transparency Notice

Compensation for this role ranges between $180,000 - $240,000 CAD, depending on level and location, with additional benefits such as equity and an annual performance bonus.
