Job Responsibilities:

We are in search of a talented and experienced smart contract engineer to join the USDC Smart Contract team at Circle. As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, you will take on a technical leadership role in developing and scaling smart contracts for USDC across various blockchain protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, code, validate, and deploy smart contracts ensuring secure and efficient transactions.
• Enhance existing smart contracts to streamline development processes and enhance overall safety.
• Apply best practices in security and performance optimization to smart contract development.
• Evaluate risks associated with smart contract development on diverse blockchain platforms, identify potential vulnerabilities, and implement strategies for enhanced security.

Qualifications for Circle (not all mandatory):

Senior Software Engineer (III)

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, including internships.
• 2+ years of proven expertise in smart contract development on blockchain platforms.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for non-EVM smart contracts like Rust, Go, or similar.
• Hands-on experience in a prominent non-EVM blockchain ecosystem such as Cosmos or Solana.
• Ability to architect, code, test, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts.
• Strong focus on security measures and implementation in smart contract development.
• Proficiency in staying updated on blockchain development trends.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to challenges in smart contract development.
• Ability to conduct independent research to overcome complex issues effectively.

Staff Software Engineer (IV)

All requirements of a Senior Software Engineer and:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including internships.
• 4+ years of proven expertise in smart contract development on blockchain platforms.
• Proficient in non-EVM programming languages and tech stacks.
• Deep understanding of blockchain technology and various blockchain & web3 protocols.
• Capability to lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams effectively.
• Strong communication skills to foster consensus and collaboration within the team.
