Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins with a focus on responsiveness and optimal performance across different devices and browsers.
- Customize and extend existing WordPress themes and plugins to align with specific project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and fellow developers to translate design concepts into functional WordPress websites and applications.
- Ensure code quality by conducting thorough code reviews and providing constructive feedback to teammates.
- Perform upgrades for WordPress core, plugins, themes, and PHP.
- Optimize WordPress sites for speed and performance using techniques such as caching, image optimization, lazy loading, and minimizing HTTP requests.
- Implement SEO best practices to enhance site visibility and ranking through optimizing site structure, meta tags, heading tags, and schema markup.
- Utilize tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse to analyze and enhance site performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently during development and testing phases.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a robust portfolio highlighting WordPress projects.
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, with a sound grasp of web development principles.
- Extensive background in WordPress theme and plugin development, including creating custom themes and plugins.
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization strategies and SEO best practices.
- Previous experience optimizing WordPress sites for speed and performance, reflected in high scores on performance testing tools.
Nice to have
