About Us

Immutable is a global technology company leading the way in game development on Ethereum. Our vision is to revolutionize gaming and how games are experienced. Founded in 2018, Immutable has quickly become a unicorn company in Australia, raising over AUD $300M+ and reaching a valuation of AUD $3.5 billion.

The Immutable Group comprises the Immutable Platform, the primary platform for building Ethereum-based games that have seen great success, and Immutable Games, a prominent player in web3 game development with acclaimed titles like Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.

Our goal is to make virtual worlds tangible, and we have substantial global expansion plans to become the fastest-growing gaming chain by 2024, with over 250 signed games - surpassing previous years combined.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at Immutable, you will be part of a dedicated team working on enhancing our core Web3 gaming platform. You will specifically focus on shaping Immutable Passport, our immediate crypto wallet and authentication solution for gamers, alongside other essential services designed to address key challenges in blockchain gaming such as security and user onboarding.

In this position, you will have the flexibility to choose the tools and architecture needed to meet product objectives. This will involve working across a contemporary tech stack that includes Go, TypeScript/React, AWS, PostgreSQL, among others. Previous blockchain experience is not required; rather, a solid foundation in engineering, a collaborative mindset, and an eagerness to dive into the future of gaming and digital asset management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the enhancement of Immutable Passport and other core products fueling our Web3 gaming platform.
  • Primarily work on front-end elements (using TypeScript and React) while gaining exposure to back-end and blockchain development aspects.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including founders, to steer optimal product decisions.
  • Utilize a diverse array of cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, such as Go, React, AWS, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Terraform.
  • Be part of a collaborative team environment that prioritizes knowledge-sharing, pair programming, and continuous learning.
  • Take part in agile team planning and product design sessions, providing input, estimating feature timelines, and helping with prioritization.
  • Continually iterate on products based on real user feedback to enhance player experiences.
  • Own the reliability and performance of your team's services and strive for operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and maintenance efforts.
  • Refine and enhance engineering practices and team collaboration methods continuously.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in software engineering within a product-driven setting.
  • Proficiency in front-end development utilizing TypeScript and React to create engaging user interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and maintaining tests for client-side applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering exceptional user-centric products.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different technologies and work effectively across the stack.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in startup or high-growth tech environments and adapting successfully to ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with blockchain or Web3 technologies, such as Ethereum or smart contracts.
  • Previous involvement in product strategy definition and working closely with product teams to set roadmaps.

If this sounds like you and excites you, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of web3 gaming.

Striving for an inclusive workplace, Immutable values all diverse perspectives and experiences that have contributed to our success. We are dedicated to the 2025 Circle Back Initiative and committed to responding to all applications.

Kindly note that there is no need for recruitment agencies to reach out, as we are handling this role internally and do not accept unsolicited resumes.
