Description
We are seeking a proficient Staff Front-End Engineer to take charge of our Design System project from a technical standpoint. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Design Language System core team, designers, and developers to ensure a uniform, scalable, and visually appealing user interface experience throughout Ledger's digital products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and upkeep of our design system in React and React Native.
- Establish best practices, guidelines, and documentation for UI components, accessibility, and performance.
- Work with designers to transform Figma designs into reusable, top-quality components.
- Guarantee uniformity across platforms (web & mobile) by laying a solid foundation for a design token framework.
- Promote accessibility and ensure adherence to WCAG and other related standards.
- Provide mentorship to engineers, contribute to team enhancement by offering technical guidance and executing code reviews.
Requirements:
- A minimum of eight years of experience in software development.
- Substantial experience in assembling and maintaining a library of UI components.
- Profound skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Extensive understanding of Web APIs and CSS functionalities, along with their browser compatibility.
- Proficiency in React.
- Proficiency in testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of design tools like Figma.
- Expertise in Responsive and Adaptive Design.
- Experience with version control systems.
- Awareness of accessibility standards and best practices (a11y).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical decisions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Chromatic and Zeroheight.
- Knowledge of TypeScript.
- Familiarity with React Native styling specifics.
- Skill in building interactive and animated components.
