Responsibilities
- Lead the enhancement of a sophisticated healthcare data platform and member management solution for prominent health insurers and benefits providers.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize APIs and backend systems supporting a large-scale healthcare data platform.
- Contribute to frontend projects using modern technologies like React, TypeScript, and other cutting-edge tools.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive scalable solutions aligned with product goals.
- Uphold best practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code reviews to ensure code quality.
- Enhance team efficiency through mentoring, documentation, and process enhancement.
- Engage in architectural discussions to shape the platform's technical design and performance.
Requirements
Essential Skills
- Extensive software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Ruby and the Rails framework.
- Strong background in API design, including REST or GraphQL.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and Vite.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and indexing techniques.
- Familiarity with Redis, AWS S3, and ElasticSearch.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in team-oriented environments.
- Commitment to producing maintainable, well-tested code with a focus on quality.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Rust (not mandatory).
- Experience with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
- Exposure to observability tools such as Datadog.
- Proficiency in performance monitoring, incident management, and CI/CD optimization.
- Background in infrastructure-heavy products or large-scale distributed systems.
