What You Will Be Responsible For:

In the role of Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Circle, you will be instrumental in designing, constructing, and managing Circle's infrastructure to accommodate the expanding global customer base across various regions on public cloud platforms. Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing support to multiple development teams by facilitating an agile CI/CD platform for delivering high-quality builds with quantifiable performance and quality.
  • Building, enhancing, scaling, and securing cloud infrastructure and assets using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Automating operational tasks through tools like Go, Python, and serverless solutions such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes Jobs.
  • Designing, overseeing, and monitoring Kubernetes clusters for diverse production workloads.
  • Spearheading advancements in our blockchain infrastructure by managing blockchain nodes across various blockchains like Algorand, Ethereum, Hedera, Flow, Solana, Stellar, and Tron.
  • Engaging in an on-call rotation to swiftly address disruptions in production systems and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Planning and testing disaster recovery scenarios for a robust microservices architecture.
  • Collaborating with the Security team to establish and manage security-oriented tools and systems while maintaining a top-tier security stature.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to team members to foster team growth and scalability.

Experience and Skills Required:

Senior Site Reliability Engineer (III)

  • A minimum of 4 years in DevOps or SRE roles, focusing on tooling, automation, and infrastructure management on a prominent public cloud platform.
  • Proficiency in coding/scripting languages such as Go, Python, and Shell.
  • At least 3 years of collective experience in constructing and sustaining CI/CD platforms and supporting agile engineering teams in developing microservices.
  • Proficient in various areas including building Docker images, deploying containers in Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD platforms, blockchain systems, database technologies, data warehousing, networking, monitoring tools, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Strong abilities in observability, troubleshooting, and enhancing performance solutions.
  • Effective communication skills with the capacity to convey technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.

Staff Site Reliability Engineer (IV)

All requirements of a Senior Site Reliability Engineer plus:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles, with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical aspects of architecture and system design.
  • Deep comprehension/experience in API design, cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, SQL databases, and coding standards.
