Description
Our client seeks a proactive Technical Lead to oversee their Hong Kong engineering team and influence the architecture of their multi-currency payment and digital asset conversion platform. This role combines software engineering, compliance, and digital payments, requiring close cooperation with product, risk, and R&D teams across various regions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and nurture the HK engineering team, managing payment, KYC, mobile transactions, and compliance modules.
- Establish the technical architecture for a currency conversion process across fiat, stablecoins, and cross-border settlements.
- Collaborate with overseas R&D teams to synchronize on payment integrations, wallet connectivity, and settlement pipeline design.
- Ensure systems meet security, audit, and KYC/AML standards while upholding high performance and dependability.
- Lead the creation and enhancement of microservices (Node.js / Go / Python) and ensure API gateways and backend services operate efficiently.
- Collaborate with compliance and finance stakeholders to develop tools for transaction monitoring, liquidity management, and risk oversight.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code and architecture reviews, and advocate for agile and DevOps best practices.
- Innovate and prototype new mobile and digital payment features within the broader product landscape.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, FinTech, or related fields.
- 7–10 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years leading teams in fintech, payments, or cross-border transaction platforms.
- Proven track record in FX flows, payment gateway integrations, remittance systems, or blockchain-to-fiat settlement.
- Proficient in stablecoin/wallet operations, address whitelisting, and key management.
- Thorough understanding of end-to-end cross-border payment infrastructure.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like FATF, HKMA, and VARA.
- Strong engineering skills in Python / Go / Node.js; exposure to React/Vue; adept in distributed systems, API design, concurrency, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka/RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Web3 wallets, blockchain risk analysis, and tools such as Chainalysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cultural and geographical boundaries.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin (Cantonese proficiency is a bonus).
