Next.js Node.js Dev – Web3 Auth & API Integration
Project: APAX
APAX is a platform for tokenizing physical precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) on EVM, with a strong focus on compliance, identity verification, and secure ownership/transfer.
We are currently developing a demo. The UI is largely built in Next.js / React, but it still runs on mock data. The backend and real authentication are incomplete. This hire is for Phase 1: turn the demo into a working product foundation.
What you will do
- Replace mocked login with real JWT authentication
- Wire protected routes and dashboard screens to live APIs
- Connect the frontend to a Node.js / Express backend and MongoDB
- Remove / replace Zustand mock store data with real API responses
- Add proper loading, error, and empty states
- Improve security basics (CORS, helmet-style hardening, rate limiting, auth route protection)
- Deliver work on a GitHub feature branch with a short change summary and setup notes
Tech stack
- Frontend: Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind / Radix-style UI
- State: Zustand (currently mocked; needs real data wiring)
- Backend: Node.js, Express, MongoDB, JWT
- Later phases (not primary for this post): Solidity / ERC-20 / ERC-3643, wagmi / ethers, wallet flows, oracles
This role is NOT a redesign. The UI already exists. We need strong integration and backend skills more than visual redesign.
Engagement
- Remote contract
- Flexible hours (part-time or full-time depending on fit)
- Hourly preferred
- Process usually takes 1–2 weeks: short screening → private repo review → technical call → kickoff
Please include in your proposal
1. Relevant Next.js + Node.js / MongoDB / JWT experience (links or brief examples)
2. Your GitHub username
3. Your hourly rate
4. Hours available per week
5. How you would approach replacing mock dashboard data with live APIs in the first 1–2 weeks
6. Whether you have any Web3 / wallet experience (nice to have, not required for Phase 1)
If you mainly do WordPress, no-code, or UI redesign only, this is not the right project.
