The company is seeking a junior Accounting Consultant for a 12-month full-time contract role. The role involves assisting with financial reporting and month-end close processes. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, compiling reporting schedules, and maintaining audit-ready workpapers. This position is ideal for early-career accountants with a keen interest in IFRS/US GAAP reporting and strong Excel skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare routine and adjusting journal entries such as accruals, prepayments, and revaluations.
- Conduct account reconciliations for balance sheet and key P&L accounts, investigating and resolving variances.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations, confirmations, eliminations support, and settlement tracking.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reporting schedules for P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and equity roll-forward.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready workpapers and support external audit requests.
- Utilize Excel to standardize and automate recurring schedules and support ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience in corporate or public settings.
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP fundamentals; exposure to consolidations/intercompany is beneficial.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups; familiarity with Power Query or basic SQL is advantageous.
- Experience with an ERP system like NetSuite; exposure to reporting/consolidation tools is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative with excellent communication skills.
