Back-End Engineers, Institutional

We are seeking experienced Back-End Engineers in London to join our development community. In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation software systems for the growing cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

Since 2017, Blockchain.com has been a successful institutional business and a strategic capital partner for the major trading, investment, and mining companies in the crypto space. We offer lending, OTC and electronic trading, custody, asset management funds, and other financial products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with fellow Engineers and the Lead to develop innovative software solutions for our global cryptocurrencies institutional businesses and operations
• Design, develop, and take ownership of high-performance backend solution stacks
• Maintain and optimize existing systems for scalability, extensibility, and performance
• Contribute to enforcing technology and coding standards across teams
• Stay updated on the latest technologies in the blockchain and technology space

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
• Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems
• 1-7 years of experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Preferred experience in back-end applications related to trading
• Strong curiosity and understanding of software engineering principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in both traditional finance and cryptocurrency markets
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in modern backend technologies such as Python-Flask/FastAPI, JS or TS, SQL, Redis
• Openness to learn or work with Rust
• Knowledge of other technologies like CI/CD, C/C++, Solidity is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus
• Understanding of spot/futures/options trading is a plus
