Backend Operations Support Engineer - Night Shift
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for various ventures projects. These projects are closely aligned with our core businesses and are executed efficiently by a lean team. As a key member, you will play an active role in designing different components for scalable applications, ranging from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Technical Development and Testing
a. Engage in requirements analysis, system design, and contribute to the development tasks within the technical team.
b. Develop and refine integration tests to ensure software robustness and reliability.
c. Collaborate closely with various operational teams to enhance operational efficiency continually.
Customer Support and Problem Resolution
a. Serve as the primary technical contact for addressing issues encountered in production, such as troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing effective solutions.
b. Participate in daily activities of the customer support team, addressing user issues promptly.
c. Exhibit a thorough understanding of all services related to derivs trading to efficiently analyze problems and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolutions.
d. Analyze encountered problems, convert them into business requirements, and work with the Project Manager and developers to improve products.
System Reliability and Maintenance
a. Collaborate with the SRE team to create monitoring and alerting systems for early detection of production issues.
b. Develop system upgrade and optimization strategies to improve performance and reliability.
c. Coordinate with various teams in case of system failures to minimize downtime and impacts on users.
Work Hours
Work primarily in the EST timezone to align with customer needs, with some overlap during HKT timezone working hours.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of DevOps experience, particularly with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Linux environment, shell scripting, Ruby, Golang, and SQL technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems such as Datadog and Sumo Logic.
- Prior experience in GitOps with Argo CD is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue identification.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and take ownership of projects.
- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin, with Cantonese knowledge being a bonus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours covering US trading sessions.
- Positive attitude with a proactive mindset.
Desired Skills
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of SDLC processes and a proactive approach to process automation.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Previous experience managing software on AWS is beneficial.
