Backend Operations Support Engineer - Night Shift

You will play a crucial role in architecting components for scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Technical Development and Testing
a. Participate in requirements analysis, system design, and development tasks within the technical team.
b. Craft and refine integration tests to uphold software robustness and reliability.
c. Foster relationships with operation teams to optimize operational efficiency continuously.
- 2. Customer Support and Problem Resolution
a. Serve as the primary technical contact for resolving derivs trading project issues in production, leading root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
b. Engage with the CS team in daily operations, promptly addressing user issues and requirements.
c. Demonstrate deep understanding of derivs trading-related business services to promptly identify and address problems, working with relevant teams for solutions.
d. Document and analyze encountered problems, transforming them into business requirements to enhance product quality.
- 3. System Reliability and Maintenance
a. Work with the SRE team to establish effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms, identifying potential issues early to prevent system failures.
b. Develop upgrade and optimization plans to enhance system performance and reliability.
c. Coordinate with relevant teams in case of system failures to swiftly resolve issues, minimizing downtime impact on users.
- 4. Timezone: Primarily work in EST timezone with some overlap in the HKT timezone to support customers.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of DevOps experience, especially with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Linux environments, relevant support tools, shell scripting, Ruby, Golang, and SQL technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems like Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of exchange platform domain and experience with GitOps using ArgoCD is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
- Detail-oriented with multitasking capabilities across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin; Cantonese proficiency is advantageous.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including US trading sessions.
- Positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Desired Skills
- Experience with version control systems and SDLC processes.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Previous experience managing software on AWS is a plus.
