Backend Production Support Engineer - Night Shift
We are seeking a talented individual to be a part of our team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for various venture projects that complement our core businesses. These projects are rapidly bootstrapped with a lean team. As a member of our team, you will actively contribute to designing diverse components for scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support during trading hours and manage daily operational procedures.
- Proactively monitor application statuses and promptly address any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with the development team to create tools for operations and enhance system observability.
- Automate and optimize operations and processes to boost efficiency.
- Engage with teammates, escalate matters to subject matter experts when necessary, and forge strong relationships with various operation groups.
- Effectively communicate with developers and internal stakeholders on infrastructure and platform issues and updates.
- Work closely with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to provide monitoring feedback for improved observability.
- Document operational procedures and establish a knowledge base for scalable and maintainable operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the proper installation, configuration, and testing of application services.
- Implement proper change management, including risk evaluation for changes and crafting backup plans.
Requirements
- Possess at least 5 years of DevOps experience, particularly with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Have strong proficiency in a Linux environment and related support tools.
- Hands-on experience with shell scripting, Ruby, and SQL technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems such as Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of exchange platform domain is advantageous.
- Experience with GitOps using ArgoCD is a plus.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive issue identification, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin; knowledge of Cantonese is a bonus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to cover US trading sessions and maintain a proactive and positive attitude.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in version control systems, with Git experience as a plus.
- Familiarity with SDLC processes and a proactive approach to process automation.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
- Experience in managing software on AWS is beneficial.
