Business Development at Wintermute
We are seeking a Business Development & Partnerships Manager based in New York to facilitate and drive our continued expansion efforts in the region. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of US financial services markets from both traditional finance and digital assets perspectives. Responsibilities will include expanding Wintermute's global business footprint by forming new partnerships as well as nurturing existing relationships.
In this role, you will take charge of opportunities within the region, devising and implementing your growth strategy while benefitting from guidance and support from the team. Wintermute offers cutting-edge liquidity products, collaborates with significant blockchain projects, harbors strategic growth potentials, and attracts numerous interested counterparties. We operate without legacy processes or corporate red tape, upholding the highest professional standards without layers of bureaucracy.
Responsibilities:
- Expand institutional OTC business on a global scale, leading the development and execution of growth strategies in the designated region.
- Collaborate closely with other teams to introduce new products into the market, such as derivatives, by gathering customer feedback, testing products, and planning launches.
- Grow the crypto project liquidity provision business by strengthening relationships with prominent projects in the region, local VCs, and other vital ecosystem participants.
- Develop partnerships with key entities like exchanges, custodians, lenders, and other infrastructure providers.
- Execute a structured business development process and enhance operational efficiency by leveraging tools like CRM systems and optimizing campaign effectiveness.
- Keep abreast of crucial launches and news in the crypto sector to identify potential collaborations and business development opportunities proactively.
Hard Skills Requirements:
- Prior experience in both traditional financial and digital assets services from high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of eCommerce is advantageous.
- Proficiency in spot and derivatives OTC products, particularly options, is necessary.
- Experience in business development, partnerships, or client-facing roles (e.g., B2B sales, investment banking).
- Track record of delivering tangible business results, demonstrating quota achievement or other measurable successes.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively educate counterparties about Wintermute's services rather than delivering a standard sales pitch.
- Trading or crypto knowledge is a plus; the role requires a keen interest in understanding blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and liquidity provision fundamentals.
- BSc/MSc in Business/Economics/Finance or related fields.
