Ledger seeks a driven Commercial Legal Counsel to join the Commercial Legal Team, instrumental in supporting the growth of Ledger Enterprise Services (LES). This pivotal role reports to the Senior Legal Director, operating alongside a diverse team of skilled lawyers. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge legal and commercial aspects within the thriving blockchain and crypto sector.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary legal contact for LES, overseeing legal support for commercial ventures.
- Assist in creating, reviewing, and finalizing various commercial agreements to meet business and legal standards.
- Aid in devising new market strategies, products, and services, offering expert legal advice.
- Enhance existing contract templates and construct new ones, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct research and provide counsel on laws relevant to Ledger and LES.
- Spearhead enhancements in legal processes, contract documentation, and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to aid in tool development, process refinement, and policy enhancement.
- Ensure adherence to KYB processes, promoting progress efficiency.
- Provide advice on disputes and assist in crafting compliant solutions to complex business challenges.
- Support colleagues and handle diverse legal matters as needed in our dynamic scale-up environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent with GDL/Diploma.
- Current Practicing Certificate (English Qualification).
- Minimum 5 years' commercial legal experience in Platform as a Service (PaaS) domain.
- Proficient in contract drafting and negotiation in English, with strong communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and business-minded.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Creative thinker with the capacity to communicate legal information concisely to non-legal professionals.
- Collaborative team player enthusiastic about assisting teammates.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Crypto industry knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory.
