Job Opportunity:
The Finance team at Ledger is seeking a Procurement Specialist to contribute significantly to enhancing direct procurement operations. The primary focus of this role is to optimize hardware gross margin by reducing costs associated with hardware development and manufacturing, meeting business needs, and effectively handling supplier risks. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven background in direct procurement operations, preferably in the realm of consumer electronics.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategically acquire goods and enhance margin performance through detailed analysis of cost and margin data, market trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with product plans and business goals.
- Implement procurement strategies, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, supplier selection, and contract management.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, competitive pricing, and optimal service levels, while tracking and reporting on cost savings achieved.
- Cultivate robust supplier relationships, ensuring best terms and conditions that meet business goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with suppliers, implementing risk mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide insights through data analysis and reporting to senior management and other departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in direct procurement roles, with a focus on negotiation and cost savings.
- Proven expertise in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills in both French and English.
- Familiarity with contract law, procurement best practices, and consumer electronics is preferred.
