Director, Content
Position Summary
The Director of Content plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow and high quality of all content. This position involves hands-on editing and refining of content for clarity, consistency, and adherence to our brand. Additionally, the Director of Content acts as the traffic controller, coordinating the creation, production, and review processes, ensuring timely completion and alignment with our standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer, detail-oriented, able to streamline workflows, and excels in a dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with thought leaders, content producers, and reviewers to oversee the creation, editing, and production of written content.
- Develop, manage, and distribute content across various channels.
- Assist content creators in drafting emails for content distribution.
- Oversee the review process for each piece, including compliance review.
- Establish a checklist for content creators, promoting content best practices.
- Serve as the lead editor, guaranteeing high-quality written content that is grammatically correct, aligns with the brand guidelines, and resonates with intended audiences.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive content calendar for Grayscale, providing an overview of all content being released.
- Work with key stakeholders to establish and maintain a Grayscale "handbook" with writing guidelines.
- Conduct competitive research on content produced by traditional financial services companies and other cryptocurrency firms.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to track content performance and make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience in content-focused roles such as editor, lead editor/writer, content director/manager.
- Experience in financial journalism, financial services writing, or sell-side research.
- Exceptional writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong editing skills across various content types and target audiences.
- Expert understanding of MLA/APA or other writing styles.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Profound knowledge of financial and capital markets and investment.
- In-depth understanding of content marketing principles, best practices, and industry trends.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple internal stakeholders and priorities.
- Extensive experience in project management.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to synthesize information, adapt to brand tone, and implement a content strategy.
- Proficiency in translating complex ideas into compelling written formats suitable for different media and audiences.
- Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize collaborative content production across departments.
- Proficient collaboration with senior stakeholders to align with strategic goals.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize time-sensitive tasks.
- Eagerness to meet demanding and evolving deadlines.
- Previous experience establishing a similar content function in a prior role is highly desirable.
- Submission of writing samples illustrating writing style and ability is required.
