Responsibilities:
As a Director of Data Engineering at Circle, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to develop and operationalize data solutions and scalable pipelines. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence internal data utilization and decision-making processes as part of a data-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading data engineering initiatives and serving as a key point of contact across teams
- Collaborating with Analytics, Product, and Engineering units to expand data platforms and datasets in alignment with business objectives
- Nurturing the professional growth of team members to enhance productivity and retention
- Acquiring in-depth knowledge of data sources and ETL procedures within Circle
- Overseeing the management and optimization of the data warehouse and other related tools
- Supervising a team of data engineers, including managers and individual contributors

Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience handling large datasets and modern data tools
- Previous experience in technical leadership and team management for at least 5 years
- Proficiency in a scientific computing language like Python and advanced SQL skills
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in database and data warehouse design
- Hands-on experience with software development processes and tools such as Linux, git, and AWS
- Proven track record of designing and implementing modeling solutions at scale
- Ability to analyze complex business challenges and structure analytical projects effectively
- Demonstrated success in developing and retaining data engineering talent
- Experience in managing remote teams
Additional Details:
- Position may qualify for immediate PERM sponsorship for eligible candidates
- Compensation is determined by various factors, including expertise, qualifications, and business requirements, with base pay ranging from $227,500 to $292,500
- Includes annual performance bonus target of 20% along with equity and benefit packages
